Book Blogger Hop: Have you ever slept with a favorite, beloved book under your pillow, or cradled in your arms?

I ran across the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week they have a new book related question you can answer. If you are interested in finding out more, the next weeks question, and/or participating then stop by the Book Blogger Hop page.

Have you ever slept with a favorite, beloved book under your pillow, or cradled in your arms?

I’ve not done it on purpose, but I have fallen a sleep with a book in my hands. I’m reading all comfortable in bed and then the next thing it’s morning and I have book next to me or in my hands. I use to do this a lot as a kid. Haven’t done it so much as an adult.

I have also almost fallen asleep listening to an audiobook. I’ve caught myself before I did, but I’ve had a few close calls since I discovered audios.

Have you ever slept with a book? Favorite or otherwise?
What book was it?

  1. Same here. I’ve fallen asleep with my Kindle before on accident. I do keep it on my end table. Nice thing about eReaders, you don’t loose your place if you drop it. 🙂 I’ve have fallen asleep listening to an audiobook. Luckily, I woke back up pretty quickly. I only had to go back a few minutes.

    • I agree with eReaders you can’t loose you place like you can with an acutely book in your hands. I’ve caught myself dozing with an audio, but didn’t miss anything thankfully. At least with audios you can go back easily and pick u what you might have missed. Melanie, always a pleasure having you stopping in.

  2. A few times I have read until I pass out and my kindle stays on the bed with me. When I was younger and reading when I should have been in bed I would totally keep my Babysitter club books hidden under my pillow!

  3. I can’t recall ever sleeping with a book on purpose, but definitely on accident. Usually though I catch myself before I actually fall asleep, although sometimes my husband steps in and does it for me. I rarely fall asleep while reading thse days though.

    • As kid it happened more then once, but as an adult I haven’t fallen asleep with a book. I have almost dozed off listen to an audio, but caught myself before I missed anything. Thank’s for stopping in.

  4. Like you I have not done it on purpose. I have dropped a book and Kindle on my face though when I accidentally nod off.

  5. I never have slept with a book. I do carry mine around like a baby when reading it though. 🙂

    • I do carry mine around too like a baby. I won’t leave the house without my iPhone, iPad, or a book too. ^_^ Thank’s for stopping in Mary.

  7. Not intentionally, but have done the same thing. Fallen asleep while reading and waking up with the book lying across my chest.
