#Top10of2019 – Top 10 Books I’ve Read In 2019

Posted on by

WOW!  It’s that time of year.  Time to do my Top 10 lists.  This year I read a lot of Backlist Titles and 25 New Releases.  This is a mix of new and old titles I read in 2019 that are my Top 10 picks.  Each book was a 4.5/5 Star read or listen.  In no particular order. (Pictures link to reviews.)

Backlist Titles

Edge of Eon – I’ve been meaning to read Anna Hackett for quit sometime. I finally picked up her books this year and man am I hooked. If you love science fiction romance, great world and character building, and non-stop action, then this author is for you.

Changes / Turn Coat – The Desden Files is a must read Urban Fantasy series. Every book brings us something new and the world and Harry, our main lead, keep building and changing. I haven’t been disappointed yet and can’t wait to see where things go in this series.

The Spider / Deadly Sting – The Elemental Assassin series is another Urban Fantasy series that’s a must. I’ve not been disappointed. Each book brings me something new to love. It’s full of action, adventure and fabulous characters. Plus if you love food, then you might pick up some ideas. Gin loves to cook.

Masques / Wolfsbane – This is an Epic Fantasy series by Patricia Briggs. This was written long before her Mercy Thompson series. I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy, but I was taken into another world and captured by the storytelling. We get stories inside stores and an interesting world. I’d recommend the audio because it keeps the story moving especially when you get a lot of storytelling happening.

2019 New Releases

The Blacksmith Queen – I’m a big G.A. Aiken/Shelly Laurenston fan. This is a new series in the same world as her Dragon Kin, but with new characters and locations. We get demon wolfs, centaurs, dwarfs, and a verity of characters.

Wolf Rain – Love Singh. As usual Singh combines a verity of elements regarding the Psy and shattering of Silence as well as a sensual and emotionally rich romance. I just adore this world and can’t wait to see where things go from here. If you haven’t read start with the Psy-Changeling series then move onto the Trilogy.

Sapphire Flames – I love Andrews. I can always expect to feel a verity of emotions. To be sucked into the story and swept away. I was hooked from the first word and couldn’t stop until the end. I can’t wait for the next novel.

Dragon Fire – Dragons are my favorite shifter to read about and Cross has created the Morgan race. I love dive back into this world. This novel was hauntingly beautiful. The romance is a sweet slow burn. We’re also treated to lots of action and passion. I can’t wait for the next installment.

  1. Oh, I’ll have to get to the Patricia Briggs backlist! I loved Sapphire Flames, too. Great list here! 🙂

    • Glad you enjoyed the list. Briggs, Singh, and Andrews are all three amazing authors that I love to re-read.

  2. I’ve read a lot of the books you’ve read this year. I hope you find even more next year.

    • We do like a lot of the same books. ^_^ 2020 should be a good year in books. I’ve got a lot of New Releases from my favorite authors I’m excited for.

  3. Nice list!! I have a couple of those in my favorites, too. Dresden Files is one of the best narrated and written series out there. So glad you enjoyed it this year!

    • Slowly I’m working my way through Dresden Files. I’m really enjoying the series. Thank’s for visiting!

  4. Now that I am reading the Dragon Kin series, that new G.A. Aiken one is definitely enticing! I will get there hopefully in 2020. Great list! Estep and Singh are big favorites of mine and I have Butcher on my TBR. I WILL get there LOL

    • So many great author’s to enjoy! Glad to see you are enjoying the Dragon Kin series. It’s one I like to re-listen/read too; especially when I’m in a slump

  5. I really need to get on the stick and read Sapphire Flames and start the Jim Butcher and Jennifer Estep series. I love the Aralorn books by Patricia Briggs.

    • The Aralorn books are amazing. I listened to the other two that tie into that series. They are good and enjoyable, but both romances are left open. It feels like more books would have come if the series took off. Still both where nice listens.

I’m still behind on Butcher and Estep, but slowly I’m working my way through the books and novels and have to say both series are well worth reading and/or listening too.

Oh Sapphire Flames is a great read or listen. I love the cover for Emerald Flame coming late 2020. Cant’ wait.

      Thank’s for visiting!

  6. Oh how hard it is to choose! I LOVE Jim Butcher, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs and Jennifer Estep. The last three are on my list. I’m waaaay behind on Nalini Singh so Robin reviews her books and Juliette Cross. I have really been wanting to read that GA Aiken book, so really I just want all your books! lol Excellent choices.

Thanks you so much for joining us! I am so happy to see all the favorites and that I have read some or they are already on my TBR because I am adding more.

    • ^_^ Haha all the books. I know when these lists come out I’m always adding to my TBR. So many wonderful novels and authors to enjoy.

  7. Oh many great ones! The onlu one I don’t have is the last one.

    • Thank’s for visiting and checking out my list. Happy Holidays!
