Book Tag: 20 Questions

Posted on by

Not sure where this tag originated.  I saw it on The Frozen Book Blog.  It’s one of those tags you tag people in.  I’m not going to do that, but feel free to take the tag and answer the questions.

How many books is too many books in a book series?

Well this depends on how good the series is and I really think this depends on how good the author is in developing her world and characters.  It’s not an easy question to answer.

If we are focusing on one couple then 6 to 8 books I think is good to develop the characters and relationships, but if we are going to add in other characters, like having different books focus on them, then maybe 15-20.

Their are a few series that are long and when they get to be long I feel intimidated to start them.

How do you feel about cliffhangers?

It’s a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers.  They make me really want to read the next book, but can be frustrating when I have to wait for the next book to be out.  The other issue is that sometimes a cliffhanger isn’t necessary, but for some reason the author wants to do it.

Hardcover or paperback?

Hardcover!  They are prettier, feel better in my hands, and they last.  The paperbacks get worn down faster and the spins become wonky.

Favorite book?

Seriously, this questions is not for book lovers.  We don’t just have one, we have multiples.  I’ll just have to give you a few favorites on my list and you can always stop by my Goodreads list called favorites or you can check out individual genre favorites on my Goodreads profile page.

My (hopefully) short list of favorites:

Moonshadow (Moonshadow #1) by Thea Harrison
Dead in the Water (Gemini #1) by Hailey Edwards
Unchained by a Forbidden Love (Eternal Mates, #15) by Felicity Heaton
Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling, #12) by Nalini Singh
Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10) by Nalini Singh
Oracle’s Moon (Elder Races, #4) by Thea Harrison
Gunmetal Magic (Kate Daniels, #5.5) by Ilona Andrews
Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels, #3) by Ilona Andrews
Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson, #5) by Patricia Briggs
Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs

Least favorite book?

Here are a few I’ve not enjoyed.  I use too not DNF, but I finally became comfortable with it unfortunately I finished these novels, but wish I had DNF’d them.  You can check out my 2 star reviews on Goodreads and my DNF list.  The least favorite books: Reader Abduction (Alien Abduction, #7) by Eve Langlais, Miss Mechanic by Emma Hart, Kiss of Pride (Deadly Angels, #1) by Sandra Hill.

Love triangles, yes or no?

Oh god NOOOOOO.

The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

The Pirates of Moonlit Bay – The cover and blurb captured me, but I just couldn’t get into the book and DNF’d at 25%.

A book you’re currently reading?

Currently reading Avenged by an Angel and Listening to Once Burned.

Last book you recommended to someone?

Oldest book you’ve read? (Publication date)

Dark Prince (Carpathian Novels #1) by Christine Feehan (1999)

Newest book you’ve read? (Publication date)

January 14th 2020

Favorite author?

I’ve got a few favorite authors, but the two that I auto buy for are Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs.

Buying books or borrowing books?

I like to do both, but I’ll first check out my library before considering buying.  If I really love the book after reading it at my library then, I’ll buy it.  If my library doesn’t have it then I consider buying.  Manly I wait for it to be on sale.

A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows #1) by Kim Harrison.  I tried to read this book, but I ended up DNFing.  I just couldn’t get into the book.

Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Never dog-ear a book.  Bookmarks always.

A book you can always reread?

I don’t just have one book that I like to reread I have many.  This is another questions that has more than one book for the answer.  I like to reread The Pride series by Shelly Laurenston, Dragon Kin series by G.A. Aiken, Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh and the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.

Can you read while hearing music?

Ehh, yes and no.  I read with TV background nose as for music sometimes classical.

One POV or multiple POV’s? (POV’s = Point of views)

I like both options, but it depends on how good the author is on doing those POV’s wither I’ll enjoy them.

Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

It depends on how good the book is.  It usually takes me a day or two to finish a book, other times it can take me a week or longer.  It all depends on my real life and if the novel captures me.

Who do you tag?

No one!  Have fun and if you feel like doing the tag, then I’d love to hear from you.

  1. I think it’s funny that you say a long series intimidates you but then you say 15-20 books is a good length for some series. That definitely intimidates me!! 🙂 (But I don’t read a lot of PNR—I know those series are typically long.)

  2. Great answers! Wolf Gone Wild looks like it’s going to be interesting!

    • Wolf Gone Wild is a sweet cute light-hearted magical read. I enjoyed. Thank you Angela.
Have a fabulous day and happy reading!
