Kindle Unlimited Jaunt [10]

Posted on by

This year I’ve been binging Kindle Unlimited titles. I wasn’t planning to read in KU, but I got a really good deal and then just kept the subscription. Pretty much everything in KU that I’m interested in, my library won’t pick up, so this is giving me a chance to finally check out some new authors and books I’ve had on my TBR plus I’m reading more then enough to cover the cost of the subscription.

Kindle Unlimited

Paranormal Romance

Dragon’s Gap series (Complete): Novella: Love’s Catalyst, Reign & Sage’s Story, Sharm & Edith’s Story, Storm & Charlie’s Story, Ash & Olinda’s Story, Ace & Harper’s Story, Novella: Love’s Impulse, Thorn & Ciana’s Story, Ocean & Conor’s Story, Novella: A Christmas Surprise. – It’s a complete series and I binge read it. The first few books I had some issues with the writing and how disjointed it was. I eventually got used to it and things got better in that department. I enjoyed the world and very unique supernaturals plus DRAGON’S. I love dragon’s.

The Tyrant Alpha’s Rejected Mate – I enjoyed this first book in the series. It had some issues especially the pack which is old-fashioned and stuck in their ways even if they are trying to change the women are still put into a very specific role. We do have the insta mate, then rejection, but instead of it being over the male can’t keep the female out of his mind and they work to get to know each-other; before becoming mates. I liked Una who stood up for the single females and has protected them and encouraged them. It was a descent start to the Five Packs series.

My Kind of Town – I have know idea how I missed this fun story by Shelly Laurenston. When I went digging it was originally part of an anthology; Sun, Sand, Sex and now is published as a single title. The only other title in The Long Island Coven is still part of an anthology: Belong To The Night. I love Laurenston and her fun characters.

Shadow Beast Shifters series (5 Book Complete): Rejected, Reclaimed, & Reborn. – The first 3 books focus on the Shadow Beast and lead Mera. It was intriguing enough to keep my interested and have me come back to finish Mera’s story. It’s dark and gritty. You can read my review on Rejected here.

Chosen By The Alpha series (Not Complete): Alpha’s Betrayal & Alpha’s Sacrifice. – Eh! I disliked our lead heroine Luna. She’s abused (verbal) by her family and rejected by her fated mated. She has several internal monologues over and over about all this and all she does is wine like a teenager, she’s 26. Really i h8 winey heroines who don’t fight and stand up for themselves. Will not be reading anymore in the series.

The Wolf’s Witch – I wanted to like this story, but I was so frustrated with our Brighton Pack alpha, Malone, and how he constantly rejects our heroine, witch, who eventually becomes a hybrid-witch. All the characters were just awful. The witches were all awful. The shapeshifters were all awful. Nothing compelling about this one. I won’t be reading on.

Urban Fantasy, PNR, & Steampunk

The Baine Chronicles series (11 Books): Bound by Magic, Haunted by Magic, Marked by Magic, Betrayed by Magic, & Deceived by Magic. – I’ve just started this series and I’m in love. It’s a slow burn romance, but man the world-building and character development is outstanding. I’m having so much fun and it’s become a new favorite. I wasn’t sure if I’d like the steampunk aspects, but I find it to be cool.

Urban Fantasy & PNR

Midnight Empire: The Tower series (Complete): Wild Knight, Three Dog Knight, Deadly Knight, & One Knight Stand. – This felt like Kate Daniels in a way. More UF than romance and I like that with the romance in the background and focusing on the fantasy and action. Had fun and I moved onto the next series in the same world. I binged.

Midnight Empire: The Restoration series (Not Complete): Endless Knight & Red Rook. – Wish this series was complete, but the author is still working on the books. It’s more UF and I recommend reading Midnight Empire: The Tower series fist. Both set in same world. One before the other.

Urban Fantasy

Shadow Hunter – I just picked up 1 in Rosie O’Grady’s Paranormal Bar and Grill series and really enjoyed. It’s a great start to the series. It’s got a great plot, world-building, and characters. I’m looking forward to reading more. I’m also curious as to how it sounds in audio. When a book makes me want to also listen I know that’s one I’ll come back too. I recommend this for UF fans.

Sci-Fi Romance

Drixonian Warriors Series (Complete): The Alien’s Savior, The Alien’s Challenge, & The Alien’s Equal. – I finished this series and loved it. A new favorite Sci-Fi author and series to enjoy. I binged.

Erotic Paranormal Romance

Possessive Alpha Wolf – I really wanted to like this, but it wasn’t my cup of tea. Nothing captured me and so I won’t be reading on in the series.

Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance

Survivor – I was looking for something different and we don’t usually see a shifter with a disability, so this sounded interesting. It was a very very very slow burn. The whole story was slow and our heroine is only eighteen, young adult. I won’t be reading on.

The Pack Prophecy series (Complete): Outcast, Outlaw, & Oracle. – I read all 3 books, but wasn’t overly impressed. Our heroine ends up with 7 mates. OMG that is just to many. 3 is ok, maybe 4, but more is just over the top. Lots of sex, some rejection, heartache, and trying to find out about the prophecy and how to save the wolves.

The Price of Possession – I liked the concept, Punk Rock Pizza shop owner gets dragged back into the occult and wipes the floor of these demons. Things thou turn meh pretty quickly for me and the relationships were instant. Bang! I won’t be reading on.

Wolf Rejected – You can read my review on this one here. It was just all over the place and I won’t be reading on.

Magical Bureau of Investigation series (Complete): Homecoming Homicide, Creeping it Real, & Perfectly Wicked. – I was expecting more of a mystery with romance coming into play. This just didn’t have the mystery I was expecting especially with the series title. All 3 guys have a past with her and I really didn’t like the reunion. She’s blindsided, kidnapped, & isolated. I finished the 3 book series, but it didn’t get any better nor win me over.

  1. Wow you did lots of KU reading. I have it and it’s like I always want to have it but I don’t read it too much focusing mostly on ARCs, library books and books I already own. There’s lots of great things I have read there though, and more I want to read.

    • When KU first came out I wasn’t going to get it, but I eventually broke down and tried it. Now a lot of authors I want to try who publish themselves are in KU and the library doesn’t carrie them, so it gives me a chance to try. I’ve had some really great reads and discovered new authors, but I’ve also had some not so great. I’ve been really diving into KU this 2022 year. Thanks for visiting!
