They stood there in silence for a moment, each of them thinking about that day. Finally, Josslyn broke the silence. Blowing out a heavy sigh, and striding across the room. Staring down at the caskets that held the remains of her Grandmother and Grandfather.

“I’m so sorry I wasn’t here for you when you died, Gram,” she whispered, bowing her head. “And you too Gramps.”

“They understood, Joss,” Julie said, stepping up next to her. “Probably more than you could ever imagine. But they loved you. They loved you more than anything in the world. But at least you got to talk to Gram before she died.”

“It’s not the same though,” Josslyn whispered, tears streaking down her cheeks. “I should have been here!”

“It’s in the past, Joss,” Jade said, stepping up on the other side of her. “Just remember what Gram used to tell us.”

“We’re meant for greatness,” they said in unison, resting their hands on top of the casket.

Thunk!

The loud noise echoed through the mausoleum, and they all jumped. Josslyn gasped, gripping the casket for support as the ground shook underneath her. “Whoa!”

“Wh-what was that?” Jade asked.

“Was that… an earthquake?” Julie asked.

“Julie, we’re in Minnesota! We don’t get earthquakes!” Jade shouted.

“Would you both be quiet!” Josslyn shouted, holding up a hand, and staring at their grandmother’s casket. “I think there’s something written here. She wiped her hand across the side of the casket, dust falling away. “The powers of unknown, shall be theirs, when they are ready.” She frowned, jerking her head around to look at Jade and Julie. “What the hell does that mean?”

What are some of your pet peeves?

Pet peeves… I guess mild annoyances that get me is first and foremost, men not putting the toilet seat down! Another is manners, and just common decency. If you treat people with respect, it really does go a long way. Another thing, on social media today there are so many people out there just putting people down for their own opinion. Everyone is different, everyone has an opinion, and everyone should respect those opinions. It’s a free country, and it’s great that we can all express us all in a unique way!

Where were you born/grew up at?

I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in October of 1986. Lived there for a few years until my parents decided they wanted to raise horses, so they built a house in Hudson, Wisconsin where we lived until my parents divorced years later. After that, I lived with my Mom, still in Hudson, with my other two sisters until I graduated from high school. From there, I lived in Green Bay for a few years, came back to Hudson for a few, and then most recently moved to Rochester, MN four years ago where I plan on staying for quite a while.

If you knew you’d die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day?

I would want to hang out with as much people as possible. My friends, my family, and go to somewhere exotic. Some place I’d never been. I’d love to spend my last day, doing something fun, and being surrounded by the people that I love.

Who is your hero and why?

My hero. There are so many! If you want to know the person who influenced me the most in life, that would be my Mom. She raised three girls, pretty much being a single parent the majority of my life and has been very supportive in my goals. She’s my biggest fan. But if you want to talk about a celebrity who has influenced me, Bret Michaels, the lead singer of Poison has always been a big influence of mine. His music helped me in some of my hardest, darkest times, and he inspired a lot of people with his own life story. When he was diagnosed with diabetes, but still kept going. Inspiring other to keep going.

What kind of world ruler would you be?

I think the kind of ruler I would be is someone who listens, and then takes action to the best of my ability. I always think it’s best to listen first, understand both sides of the issue at hand, and then come to a conclusion that would benefit everyone.

What do you do to unwind and relax?

I spend my days relaxing, usually sitting on the couch binge watching Netflix, or catching a good movie.

Describe yourself in 5 words or less!

A self-motived, dedicated, strong individual.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

The moment I first picked up a pen and started bringing a story to life. That was back in middle school.

Do you have a favorite movie?

Not a favorite, per se. I love movies! The fast and the furious series is one of my favorites, but my favorite chick flick was always, 27 dresses, and I can’t forget about my favorite horror movies! Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Final Destination series.

Which of your novels can you imagine made into a movie?

I would love for my wiccan series, The Wiccan Way, to be turned into a movie! Or a TV series, would probably do it more justice. There are so many characters, so many plot lines I have in my head for this series that would really benefit from a TV series.

As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?

An eagle. I feel like it represents me. Soaring high in the air, staring at the world down below him, free. Writing makes me feel free, brave, and it makes me feel like I’m soaring or flying at times.
